How it works

    Study in your module

    Every quiz answer, every flashcard you mark Got it or Missed it, and every Lesson is recorded against its concept.

    Open Today

    It lists the concepts with the strongest reason to come back, each with a plain line saying what the reason is. Concepts that are going well and not yet due stay off it.

    Choose what to do

    Each one has the same four buttons: Lesson, Quiz, Flashcards and Sources. None of them is marked as the one to press.

It works from what you did

The reasons come from your own record in the module, and the list is worked out from that record by fixed rules. No AI model ranks it or guesses at what you know.

A concept you have not worked on yet is New: SymbioLearn has no history for it, which says nothing about whether you know it. Every concept on the list names the Sources it came from.

When a concept comes back

Your first answers on a concept set a short gap before it is due again. After that, a right answer given at least 2 days after you last worked on the concept doubles the gap, and a wrong answer halves it. The gap is counted from the last time you worked on it.

So remembering something days later moves it further out than getting it right straight after a Lesson. Once a concept has gone well after a gap more than once, it is Strong, and Today leaves it alone until its review is due.

Exam date, difficulty and plans

Set an exam date on the module, and as it gets close Today also brings up concepts that are new or that you have not worked on for a while. Mark which concepts the exam covers, and only those get that lift. A concept you mark Hard on its page sits higher in the list, and one you mark Easy a little lower.

Questions

Do I have to do what Today says?

No. It names the concepts worth your attention and why. What you do with them, and whether you do anything, is up to you.

Why is everything New at the start?

New means there is no history for a concept yet. When you first add Sources, every concept is New, and the newest are listed first until you have worked on some.

What counts as working on a concept?

Answering its quiz questions, marking its flashcards and taking a Lesson on it. Opening its Sources is not recorded.

How many concepts does it show?

A few, with the strongest reasons first. The rest are counted underneath, with a link to all your concepts.
